George's Story
Life
A lifelong area resident George has been a member of the Shakespeare 70 company of Trenton since 1990. He also appears regularly at the ActorsNET of Bucks County in Morrisville, PA. Some of his favorite roles include the title roles in Macbeth and Hamlet, Lord Goring in An Ideal Husband, Algy in The Importance of Being Earnest, Fred/Petruchio in Kiss Me Kate, Henry Higgins in My Fair Lady and Captain von Trapp in The Sound of Music. Other favorites include Orsino and Feste in Twelfth Night, Antony in Antony and Cleopatra, Mercutio in Romeo and Juliet, Brutus in Julius Caesar, Andrew in Love Letters, Max Prince in Laughter on the 23rd Floor, Edward Rutledge in 1776, and King Henry II in both Becket and The Lion in Winter. for five years running: the ActorsNET production of Shaw's The Devil's Disciple, in which he played Dick Dudgeon, in 1999; the S`70 production of Henry IV, Part One, as Hotspur, in 2000; and four more ActorsNET productions: Hamlet, in title role, in 2001; King Arthur in Camelot and Edmund in King Lear for 2002; and for his direction of Shaw's Caesar and Cleopatra in 2003. Beginning March 5, 2004 he will appear as the title character in the ActorsNET production of Richard III. On June 22, 2003 George had the great honor to marry fellow SÂ70 company member and frequent co-star Carol Thompson, whom he first met in the SÂ70 1992 production of Blithe Spirit. They live in New Hope, PA with their dog "Spot" and cat "Dick Whittington". He is the Director of Pharmacy Services at The New Jersey Hospital Association in Princeton, NJ.
