George's Story
Earned BA, MA, and PhD in Geology from Wesleyan University (1954), Univ of Kansas (1957) and Yale (1960), respectively. Worked at Sinclair Research, and then taught at Univ. of Pittsburgh, Univ. of Pennsylvania, and for nearly 24 years at the Univ of Illinois (Urbana-Champaign),where I am now Professor Emeritus. ence Consultants, Inc) doing geological consulting in the Petroleum Field in Houston, TX. Retired to Guam in 2014. Published close to 400 science papers, books, abstract, reviews and reports, and received 13 awards for my scientific research.
Have two sons from first marriage (did not end up well). Oldest works for an NGO, and youngest is a commercial artist. Remarried Suyon Cheong from Seoul, South Korea, in 1994 and we retired to Guam to be closer to her family.
