George's Story
The photo was taken at my retirement party on July 3, 2008. My wife, Beverly, and I were married in 1961, in Fresno. She has been using a wheelchair since 1998 due to hip and knee joint deterioration caused by arthritis. We have two daughters and a son, all married. Debbie (oldest) has two girls, 21 & 19, and lives in Washington state; Sherri (middle) has two girls, 17 & 16, and lives in Virginia. lives in Alaska. Bev and I moved to Olympia, Washington in 1971, and on to Anchorage, Alaska in 1984, where we reside now. Bev has been in a nursing home since 2000, due to arthritis, diabetes, and associated problems. I moved to Olympia to take an engineering position with Washington State Parks, and then to Anchorage to take a civil service engineering position with the Army at Fort Richardson, and retired from that position. Beverly passed away Oct 22,2015.
