George's Story
It's been an interesting 35 years or so...
WORK-RELATED STUFF: After HS graduation, played in rock bands for a year. Then started at deckhand and worked up to captain on commercial ships. Worked in some neat places (winters in Alaska, several years in South America, shorter times in Europe, Africa, Far East). Got tired of floating around the ocean and enrolled at LSU at age 30. Worked in New Orleans, then Oklahoma, then Maine, and am currently with a major defense contractor in Newport News, VA. Got a Masters in Engineering Management in 2005, but who wants to manage a bunch of engineers?
PERSONAL STUFF: Married in 1984, have two children, divorced in 2009. My son is in college in northern Virginia, my daughter is in middle school here in Virginia. Current hobbies are kayaking, fishing, biking, and tennis.
