George's Story
I retired in May 2010 after 37 years of teaching, scholarship, and service in the Department of Political Science at Texas State University. In October of that year I was awarded the title of Professor Emeritus for my "many years of dedicated and valuable service to the University's academic programs." Further, as a legacy to these many wonderful years at Texas State, I created a permanently endowed fund named the Weinberger Endowment in Public Administration.

I authored a two-volume reference work entitled "Soviet Cybernetics Technology." This scholarly work presented a detailed account of the Soviet Union's computer history and, in the larger sense, cybernetic history.
On a personal note, I am an avid Ballroom, Salsa, and Line dancer and, for the past several years, have been filling much of my available time volunteering in the Ambassador Volunteer Program, Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. I reside in Austin, Texas; the gateway to the picturesque hill country of Texas.
