Georgette's Story
I am a totally different person that I was in high school. I found who I am and like me since I was about 25. Worked full time right out of high school. Married at 20 which ended badly after 4 years. After partying for 3 years, my sister found my soul mate and I was remarried in June 1974. Working all the while. First son born December 1975, back to work. Second son born July 1978 back to work. I lost all my favorite people in my life at a very early age. It still is very hard living without them. My Father passed (48) when I was 25, my best friend, and Mother in 2003 (83). Unfortunately she was a big pain in my ars and not a MOM. Good thing I had all men in my life. My Sister passed in 1982 (28). She became my best friend only 10 years earlier. My Husband John passed in 1998 (46). My bestest friend, soul mate and buddy. His first grand baby born day he died 7 years later. Alyssa (3) he always wanted a girl, he told me later when the boys were teens. He got her. And his grandson was born January 2008 (5 months). I have 5 grand kids 5mo., 3, 8, 9, and 10 and I am a hands on Nana. I try to take them all over the place. We have great adventures. Get outside and see things. I am starting to take them fishing. They beat me up, it's hard to keep up with them but I wouldn't change a thing. I've dated some, but live alone and decided to take up fishing after three huge disappointments. Too old for all that drama, laziness, selfishness and no understanding. Guess I was spoiled. I knew then and now I had a keeper. I have come to the conclusion that 'Old men are awful'. Fish are much better friends. I have lived in Cla...Expand for more
rkston for the past 21 years on 5 acres in back woods (love it!) wanting to sell now and move up north permanently asap. I love most sports, hockey, baseball, football, some basket ball and old cars and fishing and being in the woods. My favorite sport team is the Red Wings I have been watching since I was 10 years old. Win or lose, winning is the best. Favorite players-Wow lets see, Nightrain Lane, Yale Larry, Alex Karas, Nick Petrosoni, Frank Tanana, Gibson, Al Kaline, Jack Morris, Johnny Bench, Pete Rose, Griffie Sr., Joe Morgan, Concepcion, Foster, Gordie Howe, Ted Lindsey, Dino Cicerille, Stevie Yzerman, Ozzy, Manny Legace, Nick Lindstrum, Holmstrum, Papa Bear, Constantinoff, Hank Zetterberg, Pave Datsuk, the new rookie wonder Helm OMG all of them I hold them all dear to my heart. We have been and are rich in sports personalities. Gotta love all those men! The Wings were also my husband's favorite and he got to meet his mentor Gordie Howe and see the Wings win Lord Stanley once before he passed. THAT WAS BIG. At that time (1997) his leukemia came back. They say you get lots of your wishes and dreams granted just before you go to the light. We named our second son after Gordie and told him when we met him. He was delighted. My sons are great. They have turned out to me great men, husbands and dads. Just like their dad. I am sure he is as proud of them as I am. Don't know how they got to be so old when I am still so young. LOL That's my Readers Digest version of the past. I am looking forward to the best of the rest of my life. With someone if it's in the cards or just me up north fishing. That's a good thing too.
