Gerald's Story
I left Genoa in December of 1969 after enlisting in the United States Air Force. Wasn't easy to say goodbye! I was stationed in Wichita, KS for 16 years where I met my wife and where my son and daughter were born. I was tranfered to Ellsworth AFB in South Dakota in 1986 where I retired from the Air Force in December of 1989. I started college nad graduated from Black Hills State University in 1994. 6 when I retired from the Department after the last 4 years as Chief and reaching the dreaded "double nickel" of 55 years old. I currently have been with Rapid City Regional Hospital for 18 years working in the psychiatric unit and helping abused and troubled kids. Black Hawk, South Dakota is a great place but I do miss Genoa and all of you I went to school with! I hope to be back in the area to visit soon and hope to see alot of my old friends!
