Gerald's Story

Diana and I have had a very exciting life together for the past 45 years. When we got married we were transferred to New Orleans . Three years later we moved back to Boston. After I graduated from Northeastern University we spent more than15 years living and working for an international company in the oil and gas business. We lived in Holland for a good part of that time and our children were educated at The American School of The Hague. While in Holland I was given an award by the US Ambassador as The Distinguished American Citizen in Holland. We moved from Holland back to Boston and settled in Duxbury. Our sons Jerry and Stephen were in High School at the time and went to Duxbury High, We were later transfered to Singapore where my daughter Carolyn graduated from The American Singapore High School. After several great years living and traveling in South East Asia we then moved back to Holland where my son Michael graduated from The American School of The Hague. After our last assignment to Holland we were transfered to Houston Texas where we continued to travel world wide from Houston. We kept our home in Duxbury and traveled back and forth for several years. We recently sold the Duxbury home and I retired in Houston t...Expand for more
his year after 45 years in the oil and gas business. During all my time in the Industry I was in the Procurement area and retired as VP International Procurement. I am still consulting for some International companies in the Industry and traveling overseas. The majority of our kids younger years were spent living and traveling overseas. They went on to some great colleges such as Viillanova and Georgetown University. They all then went on to obtain their masters degrees. Our oldest son Jerry passed away in May of 2010 from a brain tumor. He was a CPA and Comptroller for Timberland. He left behind 3 children. They live in NH. Stephen and his family have been assigned from Houston to Singapore with 3 of our Grandchildren and Michael and his wife has been assigned from Seattle by Starbucks to Amsterdam Holland . Carolyn is living in Houston with her husband and expecting her first child soon. It's been an exciting and rewarding time for our family. The loss fo Jerry was devastating and the saddest time of our lives. Diana and I had a home built on the golf course in The Villages Florida and use it about 50% of our time and the balance is spent traveling to see our 10 Grandchildren. They age from 4 months to 16 years old.
