Gerald's Story
Life
Well....what have I been up to? It's a long tale of mystery and adventure. Long sea voyages, trains, planes, volcanos, and lot's of fun. There's a hero (me) and bad guys and of course, and maidens in distress. It would have been a great movie. But it all happen over 30 years or so. I planted my feet in NY state. What a beautiful place. Not the craziness of NYC, but upstate NY. My wife Debbie and I have raised two boys. One of them, Steve, now is 25 and a decorate Marine Corp veteran now in his senior year in College on the GI bill, was Captian of his schools lacrosse team and lead singer of his band, " the Hand yer Dealt" with a cd out. My other son Joe,just graduated from high school and received a athletic scholarship to play division 2 lacrosse at Mercy College in NYC. Both were big multiple sports stars and ladykillers. Wonder where they get that from? The biggest changes in my life happened when my parents died. I screwed up with the best girl I ever knew, then screwed up with school, then everyone sort of left. s offered a job in LA, turned it down for one in NY. Luckiest days of my life... When my boy's were born, and when I canceled my meeting with some of my employees at Morgan Stanley at 10:00am at the World Trade Towers on September 11th. I had to change my schedule due to a meeting I had to attend in Poughkeepsie, NY. All of my employees made it home safe. I would have left the Millenium hotel across the street from the towers about 9:00 am. I had an angel watching me. I have been working in the Information Technology field for 11 years now. They seem to like my way of doing things. I've done good. More that I thought. I have thought much of many of you.
I wish I could have been at the last reunion. Sharon Wiener lives in New Jersey and I have spent some time with her. I run a non-profit organization to raise scholarships for athletes from my sons high school and a golf tournament for families with kids with Down Syndrome. That keeps me busy too. I hope to make the 35th reunion. Godspeed and hope to see everyone there. If not, have a cold one for me. I miss good BarBque from Bill Millers and I miss the nights at Frontiers, cold beers from Murphys Ice House, keg parties, NIOSA, and all you beautiful Texas women! I'm on FaceBook
