Gerry's Story

Here is the Readers Digest version. The Selective Service caught up with me in Nov. of 1968 and I spent two years with the U.S. Army as a combat infantryman. Ten and a half months in the Republic of Vietnam. Went to work for the Southern Pacific Railroad, which was later bought by the Union Pacific, in 1972, initially as a Locomotive Engineer and later as a manager. I retired to northern Idaho in 2006. o care for my mother,, she was 90 at the time. She would not move to Idaho because of the winters. I purchased a home in California for us in the spring of 2017 to near my 30 year old daughter. Then my mother passed away in the fall. Now I own a home in California, and I really don't want to be here. My plan was to move back to Idaho this summer, but the Kung Flu has delayed that. A sane person does not move to or from north Idaho in the winter. I am currently in between wives, I have been accused of practicing serial monogamy.
