Gerry's Story
Decided to come back to Michigan in 2005 after 20 years in California and I must say - its good to be home! I'm living on 5 acres of land in Flushing Michigan - about 20miles north of Flint! Yes, from Palm Springs to Flint Michigan - somebody help me! Great to be closer to family - I got to enjoy my mother before she passed away in November (2009), dad passed in May of 2014, now I'm trying to enjoy my brother and his family every chance I get. Dad moved in with us over a year ago and we finally sold the house on Harrison in GC in 2013. I don't get down to GC much but when I do I always "remember when".
For work, I'm serving as the CEO of the Crim Fitness Foundation promoting physical fitness for kids, adults, etc. For fun and exercise I'm still running marathons - have now run 33 and even managed to qualify for and run the 2010 and 2011 Boston Marathon, re qualified and will be going back to Boston in April 2015 - it's an experience of ...Expand for more

I continue to enjoy life more by spending time at our place in Traverse City as often as possible. Bottom line ... life is good and doing my best to have gratitude for every day. Especially because last year (Oct. 7th) I got a very surprising cancer diagnosis - yes at the ripe old age of 55...went to Mayo Clinic in MN, had some throat surgery, no chemo or radiation and as of today no recurrance....seems like tonsils should have come out when I was a kid - thought they were in there to protect us...oh well, one's out now along with a whole bunch of lymph nodes.
So today I don't take things too personal, I enjoy friends, and even my golf game....its been an amazing perspective builder
I continue to think about our times at East and smile - what a ride! Thanks for the experience.....I hope we can make a 45 year reunion happen - I'd be glad to help. 45 YEARS??? WHAT IS THAT ALL ABOUT?? See you soon.
