Gil's Story

As of 19 Sep 07, I've was widowed from my Patty after just over 33 years of marriage. She had just turned 52 a few weeks prior. She'd been sick for about 10 years with lung problems due to smoking, while cancer wasn't one of her problems just about everything due to smoking was. So just a short soapbox, if you haven't started smoking, don't, if you do, please, for your family, stop.
After graduation, I went to a two year college and got my asso. degree in Architectural Engineering Technology. Our first two weeks of school was to learn how to spell it. About 3 months before I graduated, Patty and I got married. About 2 years after we got married I joined the Army, staying in for 8 1/2 years. Both our children were born while I was in the Army. he U of I, our son, Gil, Jr., works at the Entomology Lab at the U of I, which specilizes in mosquitos. He only has a GED, but is in charge of all the grad students and probably knows as much as they do but doesn't have the sheep skin to prove it. I was always so relieved that they got their mom's brains and not mine. I'm not saying I'm stupid but she was a lot smarter than me. As of now I don't have any grandkids, cause my kids aren't cooperating, but that's cool, they shouldn't have kids until they're ready.
I've been working for the post office for just over 34 years as a letter carrier, and write screen plays and stage plays as a hobby but have had a one act stage play produced in Feb 07. That was really weird seeing something you've written spoken by someone on a stage. It's interesting because the director and actors bring so much more to the words than I imagined. So it's really what they say, stage work is really a collaberative effort.
Well, that's me in a nutshell
