Thanks for taking time to read up on my very busy and very happy life. I'll try not to bore anyone: Family: Happily married ( 37 yrs this December 23rd ) to my lovely wife Lily. Two children: John Paul is my oldest. He is married to AnnMarie. Natalie is my youngest. She graduated from CSULB in psychology. She is currently working as a teacher. Very proud of my babygirl. Grandchildren: Salinger Rose and Liam Lennon. Employment: I worked as a Supervisor of Customer Services for the USPS since 1982. Retired in 2013. I also have been an elected official since 2005. I first served as Planning Commissioner for the City Of South Gate for 2 years. I served as Mayor from 2008-2009. I was re-elected to the South Gate City Council in 2009 and again in 2013. I also have served on a council of governments since 2005. I am currently the first President of that organization. It is known as The Gateway Cities Council of Governments. It focuses on environmental and homeless issues, among other things, in the southeast area. I am the Co-Chairman of the I-710 Project Committee (Long Beach FWY). Our goal is to correct a problem that affects everyone in the southeast area. The problem is the congestion and the pollution caused by this congestion. Over 40% of the importing and exporting of the U.S. comes to the ports of L.A. and Long Beach. Thousands of, necessary, trucks pass through the I-710 freeway daily. This issue affects the air we breath. We are trying to correct this problem while taking community input. I am now the President of the Independent Cities Finance Authority. Volunteer work: I am President for the South Gate Junior Athletic Association. I have served in this capacity for over 20 years.
