I was a community college teacher
and a counselor.I opted for early retirement in
June, 2001.
Education
I started, Community College on July 5th, 1960 taking two classes that summer. By taking a heavy load I graduated in a year and a half. Being on the wrestling team at Pierce was a highlight. My late father's GI Bill paid for Pierce and my 1st semester at CSUN. After graduating from Pierce (Liberal Arts)I went on to Valley State College(now CSUNorthridge) and majored in Spanish.
It took me until 1967 to graduate. I paid for school by working nights (often 7 nights a week & 60 hrs. a wk., Rocketdyne. It wasn't easy. After graduation, I worked at diverse jobs, such as social work and probation officer. Then I began teaching.
I started teaching as an elementary teacher and have taught at every level including university.

A degrees (social science and counseling psych/education and a doctorate in the same field. Education has enriched my life. I sometimes find it hard to believe that I did it.
I used to live in the Verde Valley near Sedona, Arizona, and still own a home there.. I enjoy doing volunteer work at schools,telling students about college admissions and scholarships. I have 4 offspring (3 adult daughters and one surprise boy, now 25, and 6 grandchildren).
I used to live in Corpus Christi ,Texas, . . My wife was a teacher and chairperson of the business department at a local community college.. I enjoy making welded metal sculptures out of scrap metal and going on trips with my wife and our 25 yr. old son who is the last one "in the nest" I belong to a writing "club" and mostly write weird poetry and all sorts of short stories. Have had soe stuff published. Am almost 80 and doing a lot better than i ever expected.
