Life Hi, Everyone! After graduating from high school, I went to George Mason University for a year, then transferred to Ball State University in Indiana where my family was then living. I majored in Political Science and Telecommunications and returned to Washington after college in 1981 to work for a Congressman. After six years as a legislative assistant on Capitol Hill, I headed off to UVA law school in 1987, graduating in 1990. I worked for a private law firm for a year or two and then started working for the Dept. of Health & Human Services as a staff attorney in 1992. I have been working there since then. In January of this year (2007), I was promoted to Administrative Appeals Judge on the Medicare Appeals Council. While in law school, I met my husband, Doug Morrisson, whom I married in May 1991. He is currently an attorney with the Social Security Administration. We have no kids (by choice!), but lots of nieces, nephews and pets.
