Knowledge of what is possible is the beginning of happiness. Most people are about as happy as they make up their minds to be. Between the optimist and the pessimist, the difference is droll. The optimist sees the doughnut; the pessimist the hole! The beginning is always today. You can have no influence over those for whom you have underlying contempt. People of little understanding are most apt to be angry when their sense is called into question. The pursuit of happiness is a matter of choice...it is a positive attitude we choose to express. It is not a gift delivered to our door each morning, nor does it come through the window. And it is certain that our circumstances are not the things that make us joyful. If we wait for them to get just right, we will never laugh again.".
