Ginger's Story
May 2010: Since I'm so erratic at my plan to update every quarter, May seems like a good time to . . . update! A recent highlight at work made my day, my week, my month. A gentle reminder of why I love nursing. A serious disaster at dissolved when, in a phone conversation, a patient's son told me that he recognized my voice! It was one of those "oh,no!" moments until he told me that I was the best nurse his Dad had during his final days. And that because of that experience, he totally trusted me with his mom. OMGosh - first! Then - wow, because it was four years ago. NEVER underestimate the impact that one has in someone's life! No matter how near or far. Once in a blue moon I get a phone call from a close-to-the-heart friend from college and I always, without fail, recognize his voice. It really is the little things in life that matter. So, as spring blows us into summer, I wish you the very best! May you see the sun shine every day or the silver lining in each and every cloud!

April 2010: Wow! Clearly, time to update! Still a RN - once a nurse, always a nurse! But,...Expand for more
learning the Case Management side of nursing. It's good - same rewards, same frustrations - just a different twist on the game plan! The kids have all flown the coop - what a change of pace and yet, the more things change, the more they stay the same! Once again, I love their ages, their growth and maturity . . . and the fact that, no matter how BIG they become, they will always need their Mom! We are scattered across the USA now ~ I think that gives me freedom to TRAVEL!!! Hmmm....new retirement plan....four months with each one....I like it!!! I'm still riding the Honda Shadow....I do love the freedom and intensity of the ride! And, I'm still very active in Veteran's issues - having a son who has completed four tours in that Hell Hole called the Middle East makes the commitment rather easy to maintain. In my spare time, I daydream about....sleeping! And, how very exciting that I'm currently working with one of my BFF's from 6th grade! Lifetimes apart and yet we know each other better than sisters - how fun is that!!! Hope to see you in July at the Bazillion Year Reunion! Hugs, ginger
