Ginny's Story
****Update*** Rick passed on Aug 3rd, 2010, after a valiant 13 year battle with cancer. He passed peacefully in his sleep with his family around him. As my soul mate, as a father and grandfather, uncle, brother and son, he will be sorely missed. He will be buried at the DFW Natl. Cemetery this Friday, Aug. 13th.

My hero is my husband of 22 years. He fights an uphill battle everyday with cancer & Guillame-Barre syndrome. We have both been Firefighters and EMS First Responders. at the hip. Many people go all their lives with out discovering their soul mate. I guess we were just lucky. We raised 4 kids. While he wasn't their birth father, he has been their Dad. Our first Grandchild, a boy, is now a year old. He was born to our youngest daughter & her husband. We had our second, a granddaughter, in January, born to our oldest son and his wife. (Yeah..she's gonna be a red-head, we think). We are now known as "MoMo and Popi". We are also proud of our 5 Standard poodles. They miss Popi, too. I am preparing to live my life as a widow, something that I am too young to do. But as close as we are, I will literally grieve myself to death and join him within a year of his passing. Once you've had the best, what is left? That's it in a nutshell. NASCAR Rules, Football drools! Peace out & Rock on.
