Glen Burgener:

CLASS OF 1969
Newhall, CA

Glen's Story

After graduation, I attended Adams State in Alamosa CO for two years where I met my wife, Pat, flunked out, and joined the Air Force to avoid being drafted into the Army and sent to Vietnam (1971). Spent 7 years in the Air Force, got my BA, and a commission. Separated from the AF in 1978, became a newspaper reporter/editor for 2 years, then joined Martin Marietta, which soon merged with Lockheed to become Lockheed Martin. Still employed by LM, but looking to retire in a year or so. We've lived in Boulder, CO for the past 28 years. Family includes 5 children: 3 girls and 2 boys. 4 are married. Jen is a software programmer living near us in Frederick, CO, with three sons, Noah 12, Jonah 8, and JT 5. Bo is a Presbyterian minister serving in Overland Park, KS. He and his wife are expecting their first, a girl. James is an Air Force Academy graduate recently separated from the Air Force and c...Expand for more
urrently living in Colo Spgs. He is an avowed bachelor. Jodi is a lawyer. She and her husband also live in Overland Park, KS. Jessi is a christian counselor. She and her husband live near us in Aurora, CO, and have two children, Lucy 18 mo, and Trevor, 4 months. Pat and I love to travel and spend all available weekends in our tent. We also thoroughly enjoy spending time with our 6 grandchildren and can't wait to enjoy more. My sons and I enjoy fishing and hunting near our 160 acre family ranch in Salida, CO, which is where we all meet each summer for two weeks of "fam camp". Even though I only attended Wm S Hart my senior year, I often wonder how the class of '69 fared, especially all the guys who were pulling low numbers in the draft lottery, and I still smile over my memories of football games and after football game dances and getting in trouble with Bob Downey and Dave Moreland.
