Well let me start by saying I have been working in IT for the last15 years, and one of my favorite stories I¿ll call ¿Silent Alarm¿. I was working as a Systems / Network Admin for a logistics company that was based in Hayward named Exel. I along with 2 other IT members were setting up new networking equipment in a local office in Burlingame after hours. We drew straws to see who would go pickup our dinner, and I drew the short straw. Now the IT support for that building was one of the 2 other IT people working that evening, and he told me the only safe door to exit out of was the lower level door in the warehouse office. I took off out that door and never heard any bells go off so I assumed he was correct, and proceeded to pick up the food. About 15 mins later I pulled back into the parking lot to find it filled with police cars, officers, and 2 police dogs. I rolled my window down and an officer approached my Land Rover, and asked to see identification. I produced my photo-badge and driver license for identification, then explained that I was doing some network upgrade work with 2 other people. The officer went over the explain to the rest of the police in attendance, and they decided to do an exercise with the police dogs on my 2 co-workers.
