Movies he likes include Life of Pi Movie, Les Misérables, Reckoning With Torture. TV shows he likes include Fringe, The X-Files, Star Trek: New Voyages/Phase II. One of Glen's favorite quotes is:""The method to attain the skill which allows one to effortlessly fall in love with all beings and with all of being is counter-intuitive and surprising to most of us. The unexpected vehicle that takes one to this astonishing level of affection for others is unconditional self-love. If I remain fond of myself no matter what I have done and no matter what I am doing, I will soon be in love with you and everything else. Unconditional love is not an obligation; it is not something I “should do.” It is a gift given to me if I will simply allow the spontaneous arrival of its grace." ~Raymond Sigrist (related to Zhuangzi's formula of "rong") "I'm not laughing at you, I'm laughing within you, if you don't want a laugh in there, you can just let it out." ~gaw "Caring is sharing." ~Eileen <3 "This, to me, is the ultimately heroic trait of ordinary people; they say no to the tyrant and they calmly take the consequences of this resistance." ~ P.K. Dick "I will permit no man to narrow and degrade my soul by making me hate him." Booker T Washington "I text, therefore I pm." ~ gaw "I'm living so far beyond my income that we may almost be said to be living apart." - e e cumming "I don't know why we are here, but I'm pretty sure that it is not in order to enjoy ourselves." "Death is not an event in life: we do not live to experience death. If we take eternity to mean not infinite temporal duration but timelessness, then eternal life belongs to those who live in the present. Our life has no end in just the way in which our visual field has no limits." - Ludwig Wittgenstein "The only difference between me and a madman is that I'm not mad." - Salvador Dali "Good people do not nee...Expand for more
d laws to tell them to act responsibly, while bad people will find a way around the laws." - Plato "Some cause happiness wherever they go; others, whenever they go." - Oscar Wilde "I would have made a good Pope." - Richard M. Nixon The (edit: next to) last Pope to resign was Pope Gregory XII (1406–1415), who did so to end the Western Schism, which had reached the point where there were three claimants to the papal throne, "You can pretend to be serious; you can't pretend to be witty." - Sacha Guitry "All religions, arts and sciences are branches of the same tree. All these aspirations are directed toward ennobling man's life, lifting it from the sphere of mere physical existence and leading the individual towards freedom." Einstein~ "I believe the twenty-first century can become the most important 21st century of human history. I think a new reality is emerging. Whether this view is realistic or not, there is no harm in making an effort." ~ Dalai Lama What can I do? Exactly what I've done. My voice for the voiceless. "Tomorrow morning," he decided, "I'll begin clearing away the sand of 50,000 centuries for my first vegetable garden. That's the initial step." ~ Philip K. Dick Poverty is not prevented more by those who are not in it but profit the most from it, than by those who are in it and suffer the most with it. The world is not out to get you, it already has you. The world is out to keep you...guessing.". More about Glen:"From Henderson, Kentucky, now residing in Evansville, Indiana. Semi-retired from profit making employment, part-time Helpdesk Assistant at the Evansville-Vanderburgh Public Library and as full as time allows as reader, writer and wanderer. Poetry seems as another way to breathe or reason so far as imagination can reach, poems of thought retreats from the inner space of mind and transmits these signals, vigils and artifacts of history, myth, speculation and conjectures of space frontiers and time passages. As the reader listens intently, the poet speaks joyously, erupting in a torrent of words, phrases, puns, mixed metaphors and looks for a tiny light peeking from behind those inviting eyes and an allure that befalls all shadows that speak in smiles and laughs to a tune that weaves story into allegory and rests in the silences of folds and pink shaded whispers of come...come... entangelo me yet again.".
