Glen's Story
Life
Glen Double, born near Sylvania, Ohio 1937. Survived childhood and successfully navigated the turbulent waters of adolescence. Graduated from Burnham High School, Sylvania, OH 1955. Four years in the Navy, two electronics schools. Commercial pilot's license: single engine, land. Flew in aerobatic competition. Electronics technician, Autolite, Toledo, OH. ith six patents. Then back to school to pursue a long held interest in the universe. Received PhD in Theoretical Astrophysics, North Carolina State University. Publications in the Astrophysical Journal and the Journal of Astroparticle Physics. Senior member, IEEE Nuclear and Plasma Science Society; member, American Astronomical Society. Currently, Visiting Professor at NCSU. Research interests are supernovae, gamma-ray bursts, cosmic-rays, and relativity. I teach occasionally at NCSU and have a tutoring business. Married for 54 years (my wife passed away, August 2012). I have three children and seven grandchildren.
