Glenda's Story
I left Loudoun County in 1979 for Richmond, VA to pursue a new career and what came to be a new beginning. I had no intentions of staying here but with time, I grew to love the area.
I have been a cardiac nurse all my 30 years of nursing and have worked at McGuire Veteran¿s Medical Center for 27 of those 30 years.
I have 3 children and 4 grandchildren. My son Joel is co-owner of a landscaping company in Poolesville, MD. My son Reggie is a registered nurse and is currently in grad school at VCU for nurse anesthesia. My daughter Sara, my baby, is in the Coast Guard Reserve. The grandchildren range in age from 3 to 21.

ed high school, I was emancipated, so to speak, and I bought my first motorcycle, a 2002 Suzuki Volusia. Riding a motorcycle was a 30 year dream so, I bought one, couldn¿t ride it but I had a bike nonetheless. Quickly I caught onto shifting, leaning and keeping the shiny side up, most of the time. Then in 2004 I bought a Low Rider. She was a 2001, purple and chrome beauty, with low mileage. She and I still cruise around but not nearly as often as I¿d like.
I will be eligible to retire December 2009. I would love to retire and play but I¿m not sure I¿m ready to give up the very things that I¿ve worked my entire life achieving. Time will be the decision maker.
