Glenda's Story
I wanted to join the Navy when I graduated DCHS, but instead headed to Lubbock Christian College in September 1966; then transferred to Abilene Christian. Graduated from Trinity University with B.S. in Business Admin.
Married Roy on April 4, 1970. Have 3 children, Amy, William and Troy and 1 grandson, Logan. My husband is retired from the Army. I retired in 1997 from the US government (Dept of the Air Force).
Currently live in Shallowater, TX.
After retirement, I decided it was time to fulfill the "biggest" dream of my life. As a young child, I fell in love with the sound and rhythm of the bass guitar....Expand for more
I always had the desire to learn to play that instrument and someday play in a band.
I must say that I never expected knowing how to play the bass would take me to the heights that it has. All I wanted to do was get a group together and play music in nursing homes. Somehow, I was fortunate to have one of the Original Buddy Holly Crickets to see me play and he invited me to play bass with him and another Buddy Holly musician who played with Buddy on KDAV radio. This has been an experience that I shall never forget. We are still together as a band.
I look forward to reconnecting with friends from DCHS.
