Glenda's Story
Hi to the best class ever, class of 1978
I am now Glenda Lewis-Blanco, I am the mother of two and the grandmother of a lovely granddaughter.
I graduated from G.W. Carver Sr. High School on May 20, 1978 and that was the best day of my life.
It was an honor to walk across the stage with some of the best classmates. While at Carver, I participated in several extracurricular activites, just to name a few- Basketball, Baseball, Volleyball, Swimming, Track and Field, etc. The best time I had was in P.E. with Mrs. Foley with the square dancing, oh how I loved to Promenade my partner. I enjoy being a part of the best volleyball team, track team, baseball team, etc. My time at Carver was great. My favorite teachers while their were Mrs. Foley, Ms. Cynthia George, Mr. Pullam, Coach Murphy and Ms. Madelyn White. Those teachers played a great part in my life.
I remember vaguely , my prom night when Mr. McCullum was dancing with his wife on the floor, anybody out their remembers that and old Mr. Hoover, God b...Expand for more
less his soul was a dynamic Assistant Principal, with his saying, "Mr. Hoover Hear"
That was the year our Track Team went to State
The best track team ever,- Glenda Lewis,
Sheila Batiste, Miriam Winding, Janice Marshall, Kathleen Roche, Angel Simmons, Bobby Reed,
Linda Allen, Linda Magee, and old Big Lou our Shot Putter.
Well I moved to California two years after graduation and pursued my education there. I returned back to New Orleans and attended Cameron College where I received my Associate Degree in Word Processing Secretarial Studies/Accounting. I worked in the School System for 23 years and retired in 2004. I relaxed and rested until I decided that it was time for me to go back to the real world of working and now am a Lead Tech at ACORN Association and is doing well, Thank God. All is well
