Glenda's Story

Life I left high school early on and wandered for many years looking for a life. I worked all over San Diego as a waitress, then a CNA at Chula Vista Hospital. I moved to WA in 1988 after my father died. I got my GED in 1994. They said I scored higher on the test than most high school grads. I went back to school in 1999 to get an ATA in Medical Assisting as a Major. I graduated in 2001. I love my life today as I am a grandma 4 times and am adore all of them, three boys and one girl. It has to get even better with age. My daughter Doreen, lives in Florida and my son, Danny Jr. lives here in Bremerton. School Hey, everyone knows I spent most of my time in Jr and Sr high ditching school! Guess my fondest memory though was of Drama class. I was more of a comedienne than a drama student. Could not get the stage right or anything else. I wished I could have finished school but had to have a tutor due to certain rules back then that forbade some of us from going back, not like today where a girl is pampered th...Expand for more
rough, and even offered day care for mistakes made. I regret that people some 30 years later still have a problem with that! So sad that some of us went to the same class since Kindergarten yet are not considered a part of a class reunion at 48. Hmmmm, maybe at 58, people will be more accepting and mature. College I decided to go back to school as I always wished I had gone in my younger years. Medical Office Assisting is such a large profession today and I had training as a Nurse Assistant from California, when I lived in Chula Vista. I studied things like Lab work, Phlebotomy and Anatomy; that Science stuff I so love. Graduating was the best thing I could have done in my life and I can go all the way up the ladder with this education even to a Masters in Medical Assisting. Funny, I do not know what I want to be yet, as the sky is the limit at any age. If it can be imagined, it can be attained and I am a hopeful romantic at heart, always knowing somewhere deep inside things will work out for the best eventually.
