Glenda's Story
Life
I'm at a good point in my life with 7 Grandsons under 13 years and two sweet grandaughters,4 and 8 years old.I also have 6 Bichon Frise Pups. I was the team leader for Illinois and Indiana for a Bichon rescue group and adopted 4 of the pups I fostered. I found out that I'm not good at fostering rescued pups, and My Husband is even worse. After fostering for awhile, we fall in love with them, and want to keep all of them. These beautiful little fluffs have given me an education. One of my grandsons is autistic, which has given me a greater appreciation of life and the "normal" conditions that we take for granted.
I'm also very lucky to have 7 of my 9 children in the area. I often wonder where all the years went? I was sure that I would have lots of free time when I hit this age, but I have less than ever. I know I'll have to live to be very old, because I still have so much left to do. I have renewed several of my High School friendships sin...Expand for more
ce the last reunion. It's gratifying to receive support from old friends. It's also great fun to reminisce. Life seems to get sweeter with each passing year.
I have been doing some globe trotting over the past 10 years. Since my Husband does not enjoy exploring the unknown(unknown to us), I have a group of fun friends for traveling. We've been to Italy,Hungary,The Chek Republic, and China.
I'm a real estate appraiser, which isn't in demand due to current economic conditions. I'm used to working and enjoy the stucture it provides, so I'm looking for something else to fill my time in the business sector. I know it will appear. All I have to do is keep my eyes open.
The older I get, the more precious life, family and friends become. My Mom is still doing well and lives in the house I grew up in. It would take an act of God to move her, and I'm sure that's exactly what will happen.
I would love to hear from anyone who has the time to respond.
