Glenda Byrd:  

I always wanted to be a teacher when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a good idea. As it turns out, they were right. I hope my friends would remember me as a friendly, fun-loving and good person. To relax, I play the piano, swim in the pool, listen to the sound of the ocean and listen to music I have lived in Brookhaven, Hattiesburg, Jackson and at the Ross Barnett Reservoir in Mississippi. I have also lived in Richardson, Tx, which is a suburb of Dallas, Tinley Park, IL, a suburb of Chicago, Winter Park, Florida and now I live in Casselberry, Florida, a suburb of Orlando.The main reason for all the moves were due to my husband's career. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Beth Allison, because we were good friends in high school. Also, there is a tie as to whom I would love to see again, and that would be Becky Boone Smith. She and I were close friends in high school and college and for many years after we got married to our spouses and had children. They now live in Laguna Beach, California, so it is very difficult to see her much. My obsessions are my grandchildren, Nathan, Nicole, and Nolan Byrd who live in Germany. I have a dog and two cats and I love to read and travel. The biggest surprises in my life, I guess, would be getting to live in Chicago for four years and the biggest of all was ending up in Florida. My biggest family surprise or shock was learning that my husband, Gerald, has Parkinson's Disease. My first year at USM, I lived in Hattiesburg Hall. Then I pledged Kappa Delta sorority and moved into the dorm with all the other sororit...Expand for more
