Glenda's Story
Life
Married Terrel Hunter, from Longview in September 1968. On April 2, 1970, Bryan Terrel Hunter was born into our family and Shannon Rene'e Hunter was born, September 13, 1973. Our family has been a great delight.
We have lived, from one coast to the other and in between. We started our married life in Longview, after Bryan was born we moved to Greenville, TX for Terrel to return to school at East Texas State, in Commerce. From Greenville, we moved to Bossier City, LA; an approximately 1 year later, back to Longview. We spent another 3 years in Longview, where Shannon was born. When Shannon was 3, we moved to Winston-Salem, NC, where we stayed nearly 4 yrs and from there to San Antonio, TX where we spent the next 9 yrs. We moved to Seattle/Tacoma, WA area in Sept. 1988 for 1 year and from there to Fort Dodge, IA for another 3 yrs. We have been in Fort Worth, TX since 1993 and have LOVED every minute of it. We have 3 small grandchildren, with another grandson on the way, expecting his presence in June. I am so proud of. There is nothing more important that a woman can do, than give our families a stable HOME.
Bryan our son and his wife Wendy have another little grandson for us, Jackson, born July 2006 and another due in June. Jackson, is the apple of his Daddy and Poppy's, eyes. Jackson is not still a minute. Bryan is the Minister of the Van Church of Christ, after spending 15 years in Youth Ministry. Of course, Terrel and I couldn't be prouder, but still give GOD THE GLORY.
We have an 4 1/2 year old Maltese, named Mandy, have had her since she was about 8 weeks old. She has been a delightful pet. Benjamin and Katie have been wanting a puppy. So we took them Jan. 25, to get them a Maltese puppy and of course, Terrel and I, fell for it again and went home with another Maltese ourselves. We named her - Mattie Kay. So, much for a quick trip to get the kids a puppy.
My Dad past away in August of 2007, I was in Longview for quiet awhile, during his illness and helping with my Mom as she is sick, too. I am here most of the time able to keep Mom home with me, with the help of a great Lady and GOD.
Terrel and I are in the process of making arrangments that when he retires in another few years that we will totally be living back here in Longview.
Where has all the time has gone.
