Glenda's Story

Life After graduation, I attended SFA for a year. Got married in 1962 and divorced after 5 years. Finally found my true love living next door to my parents in Lone Star in 1968. We have been married 33 years. I got my Associates Degree in Business Administration and Accounting from San Jacinto College in Pasadena, TX in 1980. I have worked at a lot of different kinds of jobs over the years. I have made munitions at Karnak, owned a machine shop in Louisiana, kept books for a chicken hatchery, printed and shipped business forms, kept books for a hospital, an office supply business, a lumber yard, and a credit union, taken care of elderly people in their ...Expand for more
homes and raised three step-children and a kid brother. It has been an interesting life so far. Marvin is sort of retired. He is 69 and is still working 45 hours a week. That is down from 60 hours. We travel when we want and do pretty much what we want. He works because he enjoys it and they wanted him to come back after he retired. They found out it is hard to replace some people. I am a stay at home wife most of the time. I still take some homecare work once in awhile. It is just a little more complicated than baby sitting, but not much. I am active in the Baptist Church in Deer Park and sing in the chior. Really enjoy that most of the time.
