Glenn's Story
Hair like Berrnie on Room 222 and a hot '68 GTO (wish I still had it). Ward for all math classes, Miller for English, Wood for Chemistry & Physics. Ran hurdles & pole vaulted on track team and could usually be found behind the science buildings during lunch breaks playing chess and doing other things.
Short stint at Bakersfield College, but found myself enlisting in the Marine Corps before the end of the 1st semester. While in the service I traveled to several locations across the US, but the greatest adventures were found during the Detachment cruise to the Indian Ocean. There I got to experience exotic locations that most would only dream about. Sometimes it was like just stepping into a National Geographic magazine. Halloween in Australia, Thanksgiving in Pakistan, Christmas in the Philippines and New Year's in Japan.
I spent close to a year roaming around after I left the service, got bored and landed a job with Union Bank handling IRA/KEOGH Retirement accounts to keep me busy. In the early 80's I began a business adventure and created a partnership that opened the Rock-n-Roll Bar called "The Wall" smack dab in the middle of Oildale. I know what you're thinking - location, location, location... Our motto was Walk into The Wall and the house band was known at the time as Millennium. You've heard the story about it being the worst of times, but the best of timesæ well, needless to say this was my story. As the dreams faded and smoke cleared I found myself lost and confused with the benefits of being an entrepreneur.

s trying to dig myself out of the financial hole I dug. But opportunity does knock twice and I found myself moving down south after accepting a position with Metal Box Inc. A couple of years after starting with this company Anheuser-Busch purchased the company and I have been working with them for the past 27 years. Starting as a packaging technician I worked my way up through the ranks to the Plant Superintendent position. I oversee the daily operations in the plant, managed two production crews and maintenance team and responsible for achieving the plants KPI's. Through Anheuser-Busch's educational program I was able to attain my Bachelor's Degree in Business Management (32 years after graduating High School). I guess it's better late, than never!
I am married to a beautiful and adventurous lady, Julia, and we share two great kids; Jason (27) and Juli (25). We have a 2-1/2 year old grandson named Aden Cole and five puppies that keep us busy. We enjoy taking our bicycles down to the South Coast Beaches and spending the day riding the local bike paths. Our aspiration is to ride the local trail round trip to Newport Beach via the Upper/Lower Santa Ana Bike trail. We also enjoy camping, hiking, and rappelling. As an avid golfer I have held the position as treasurer with Shellback Golf club for the past 8 years and we belong to United Ways Landmark Society.
All in all life has been good, even with its up and downs. We have been most fortunate that they have been mostly ups, but are looking forward to the greatest adventure in life yet to come retirement. The clock is ticking down...
