Glenn's Story
Hi all,
After I graduated from CCA I went to the University of Maryland until I graduated in 1985 with a B.S. in Biological Sciences. I put that degree to use right away and became the Assistant Manager at an Athlete's Foot shoe and apparel store. I stayed there for a few years until I took a position as an electronics technician for a company in Jessup, Maryland repairing and testing tape back up systems for computers. In 1987 I met a beautiful girl named Tammy and we got married in 1988 at the chapel at the University of Maryland. She was working as a medical secretary in a doctor's office. We moved into a tiny townhouse in Bowie, MD and soon after our family got a little larger... we bought a golden retriever. We called him Tucker and he quickly grew to take over our lives. He ate everything, including our house and eventually our bank accounts for vet bills and surgeries. He was a great companion and is sorely missed but in case any of you read the book "Marley and Me", or recently saw the movie, Marley had nothing on Tucker in his destructve capabilities. I took a position as a patent examiner at the United States Patent and Trademark Office. I have been working there ever since. In fact, they now have a program where I get to work from home... it's great. I am one of a few thousand people who detrmine if inventors or companies obtain patent protection for their inventions. In April of 1999 Tammy and I increased our family again... this time with a wonderful son, Seth. He is our first and only child. He is very interested in sports just like his dad and also is very into his music right now. He is a straight A student and we are very proud of him. In 1994 we moved into a home in Bowie and are still residing there. I was born in Maryland, and with the exception of 6 months in North Carolina when I was one, I have lived in Maryland my whole life. In fact all of my residences have been within 20 miles of each other. Tam has worked for several different doctors, from Ob/Gyn's to orthopedic surgeons, plastic surgeons and neurosurgeons. Currently she is working in Annapolis. Mostly, Tam and my free time is spent watching Seth play Bowie sports (sometimes I coach his teams).
