Glenn's Story

Life After flight school at Florida Tech I bounced around aviation for awhile and ended up as a pilot flying DC-8's for Fine Airlines. We flew cargo all over the western hemisphere, and I got to see alot of the world, from Canada to Ecuador. I got tired of flying broken jets to dangerous airports though and I switched careers. I am now a career firefighter in Southington, where my first day in the firehouse was 9-10-01. I also work part time as an EMT for Stafford Ambulance, and I am an adjunct instructor with the Connecticut Fire Academy in Windsor Locks. I am finishing another degree, this one an ...Expand for more
A.S. in Fire Science, and next year I plan to start a Masters in Homeland Security at UCONN. My wife Kara, who is a Respiratory Therapist at Hartford Hospital Cardiac ICU, puts up with my wierd schedule, and we have a great daughter, Caitlin, who just turned two. We also have 2 Great Danes, Athena and Zeus, and just moved into the house we had built in Mansfield. My little girl is a blast, and my Danes drive my wife nuts (and when is that not fun to watch). I still fly airplanes on the side, and I love going to work every day (all we do is laugh most of the time in the firehouse). Life has been good.
