Glenn's Story

Life Born in New York. Grew up in Florida. Bauder Elementary School, then to Harvest Temple Christian School for 5 years. Back to public school at Seminole Middle and Seminole High (Class of '88). Played baseball & bowled in High School. Went to St. Petersburg Junior College (now St. Petersburg College) where I, along with a few friends, began a bowling program, then onto Florida State University. After college, I went to work for Tony Little. I was a Personal Trainer and ran one of his gyms. I even oversaw (is that a word?) a couple of his before and after programs for some of his infomercial products. Then I managed the fitness program and group recreation program for the TradeWinds Beach Resort on St. Pete Beach for a couple of years. I got tired of being in the gym at 4 am every day so I moved into sales. That was the best move I ever made. I started selling fitness equipment in the Orlando area. Shortly after that I transferred to the Brandon (Tampa) area and then onto Northern California. Unfortunately, the company I worked for filed for bankruptcy. I stayed with them for the reorganization period. I, along with two friends of mine, tried to buy part of the company but were outbid by a very large group. Anyway, I decided to get away from the fitness business altogether. I decided to take what I loved and make a career out of it. I've always been good with numbers and I have always loved money, duh!! I put a call into my Broker at Lawson Financial in St. Petersburg and told him I was interested. I quit my job in California, moved...Expand for more
back to Florida, bought a house and began studying for my Securities License. Truly got tired of the hurricanes & the humidity. Fortunately my company (the company I work for, not MY company) has an office in Arizona. So I Moved to Arizona in June of '05. In the last 5 years, I have gone from a receptionist at a Brokerage Firm, to Broker and now to Vice President and Branch Manager of Lawson Financial Corporate Office in Phoenix, Arizona. I'm the honest & shy guy you usually see sitting alone. Not because I'm prude or rude, just because there are always more people who are outgoing and extroverted around me. I'm the observer, the listener. Always honest and open 99% of the time. I admit, I'll keep things to myself from time to time. Ok, 99% is an exaggeration (did I spell that correctly?). I used to play baseball. I'm an avid bowler. Bowling is truly my passion. I'll never be a pro, but I have bowled in one PBA Regional event. I love my dogs, one I rescued from a terrible owner in Alligator Point, Florida, the other I adopted from a rescue service in Central Florida. I love working in my yard. Even though it's smaller than the one I had in Florida. I love to cook. I love to eat. The eating part is catching up with me. I used to be a Personal Trainer and had the body to show it. Once I left that profession, I abandoned fitness altogether. I'm starting to use my stuff now. I have a treadmill and some dumbells. Now that I'm 36, I need to make sure my desk job doesn't add to my gravitational pull. Hope to hear from a lot of you.
