Glenna's Story
My life--how can one summarize 40 years since graduation, well I'll try. Married Michael Davis in June 1969 had 3 children Eric, Amber and Nique. Michael died in 1976. Remarried in 1977 and had another son, Zachary. Divorced sometime in the 1980s,can't remember too unimportant. I've been single since. I currently live in the Dallas/Fort Worth area but preferred my years in New York State. Unbelievable seasons, colors, smells, trees, clear water,it is awesome. Snow was even a wonderful experience. Met and befriended many New Yorker's, it is not true what is said about New Yorkers. They are warm, engaging and loyal, some of my best friends live in NY. I had a short stay in the White Mountains of Arizona, which reminded me of upstate NY...a mini-version. My desire is to return and buy a cabin in the Pinetop-Lakeside area. Love the Ponderosa Pines, the beauty of the Sunrise and Sunsets, long walks on the Rim and wings & beer at the Red Devil Restaurant.
While in NY, I worked for a text book publishing company where I learned the publishing industry. Such a fun publishing. After my mother's death in 1998 I returned to F...Expand for more
ort Worth. Landed as a developmental supervisor with Harcourt College Publishers for the behavior and social sciences disciplines. An acquisition and consolidation closed their doors, which lead me to San Antonio working for a sister company,Harcourt Assessment. I edited those dreaded TAS and SAT tests. Again, progress closed that door to me and I returned to Fort Worth where I am currently working for a commercial diving company as a reports writer <insert yawn here>.
I am close (geographically and emotionally) to my two daughters and their children, Ian 17, Shelbie 8 and little Jessica 10 months. My oldest son lives in Hobbs working for his grandfather & uncle at Davis Tools and my youngest son is in the Coast Guard, living in Astoria, OR.
Have always been a wanderlust and hope to be able to retire young enough to enjoy my curiosity for what is down the road, to travel the states first, then who knows...
I write poetry, read anything, everything, I love music, the arts, architecture, antiques. I am liberal in my politics and am a voice for my daughter and her wife. I fight for their right to Marry! Okay, I'm done.
