Gloria's Story
Well, life is amazing. I just never know where I will find myself. I Travel around to visit with my children and brother who lives here in Phoenix. I have six wonderful children and a bundle of grands. I love being a grandmother and visiting my family where ever they may be. It gives me great pleasure to see them growing and improving themselves. It brings me joy to see how they parent and how they involve themselves as husband and wife, they do this much better then I did. Where there is love there is room, that is my feeling.
Love, to accept, to have tolerance, patience and understanding. I think there is more cured with understanding and patience then any one other thing I could implement in my life. I have had my ups and downs, but the ups far outreach the downs. I keep myself busy with projects and goals of many different kinds.
I spend a good part of the year with my son In Salt Lake City, in West Jordan. I like to find myself elsewhere in the dead of winder. So I travel to Phoenix often where the summer sun spends the winter.
Just a short recap of what I have been up to over the years. I traveled to Australia and lived there for 19 months. I came home and went to school at Phoenix College and then on the Brigham Young University, never quite finished my degree. I became very proficient at archery and shot in many national archer tournaments. I was ...Expand for more
4th place in the 1971 National Archery Championship Tournament in San Bernadino, CA. I came in 11th Place in the United States National Archery Championship Tournament in summer of 1970. That was a long time ago. I moved to Salt Lake City 1970. I work in Salt Lake City and married there in 1975, moved to a little town in Southern Utah, called Toquerville. Where we raised six wonderful children. They all have there own families and are doing well. They don't need help from Mom anymore. In fact they take really good care of me. After the kids grew up I worked for a Teen Treatment Center in a little town called LaVerkin, which is on the way to Zion's National Park for nearly nine years. It was a wonderful job. And I loved what I did very much. It was the kind of job that you gained great satisfaction from help someone to improve there life, where these kids would regain there love of family and learn what real friends are.
My marriage ended after 32 years of giving it my best shot. And now I am happy and life is good. I don't think I could ask for more blessing then I now have. I have a positive outlook on life and I give service when I can. I seem to always be surrounded by wonderful good people and a loving family. I am not sure that we need more then that. My belief in God strengthens me and sustains me. So for me life is good! I hope you can say the same.
