Gloria's Story
I feel blessed at this time in life that I was so priviledged to grow up in Jennings, MO, and attending the same school from K-12....not such a common occurrence for youngsters today. I was moved with such gratitude for the 40th reunion held (5 years ago) and heard it echo thru the evening how most felt the same.
I now live in the St. Peters, MO area, for the past 10 years. Prior to that, have lived in Fort Worth, TX, Waukegan, IL, Ferguson, MO, and Alton, IL.
I have 3 grown daughters, Autumn, a work from home mom of 2, Amber, a 2nd grade teacher in the Ft Zumwalt School District, mom of 3, and Donna, still single and a BioChemical Labratory Specialist at Merk/Millipore in Weldon Springs.
Most of my working life was in communications, with SWBT, then helping my husband with his Interconnect Business Systems, then in 1982 I studied, certified for RMA, and worked in Urgent Care and Physicians offices for about 10years, returning to the communication scene by working at AT&T, GTE, and retiring in February '10 from Verizon Communications.
My Joys in life are my children, grandchildren, family and friends, and I am...Expand for more
now hoping to have time to spend time, whether being a sit-down chat, or travel to explore beauty around. I love to cook, gardening (tho I'm still an amateur) and I hope to take more time to just pamper myself with good reading. Never want to be too old to learn.
I would love to hear for good ole Jennings Folks, and do hope to meet up with some in October '10 event.
Till then, my very Warmest Wishes to each.
I always wanted to be a nurse when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a good idea. As it turns out, they were off a bit.
I unfortunately hold too much in, am working to be more spontaneous, be it Fire or Water, as long as I stay Grounded
My Lord is my Hero as my prayers can be silent but I know he hears me from the Heart
I don't really Obsess.....that would be exhausting
My first job was at Hickey Mitchell Insurance Co., where I got paid 225/month to KEYPUNCH insurance applications. What I remember most about it is how well I saved money back then.
Too Many in the Memory Bank. All are Priceless.....and so many from the wonderful people in Jennings (and of course, Steak & Shake on W. Florissant)
