Gloria's Story

Life I am the sometimes proud mother of 4 grown children,2 grandchildren and 1 husband. I have a masters degree which is a surprise even to me, for I was not the brightest student at Williams.My favorite pastime is listening to jazz, Sonny Stitt, Jean Almonds, Sarah Vaughn and other jazz greats. My proudest moment in my life was when we moved from the jets to a beautiful 3 bedroom home. The worst memory from my lifes journey was the death of my mother in 1985. t housed the recreational center, I think. Whenever I saw him walking across the playground I would almost fall out of the window trying to peep at him. Sometimes I would bribe my sister to deliver love letters to him. Mr McElroy was my favorite teacher because he always played his piano during classtime. Little did he know he opened my world up to jazz. Oh my God, if I was granted one wish I would leap back in time. I remember that myself and 2 other girls were suppose to sing the lead part at a Thanksgiving assembly. We had practiced the song for several weeks. When it came time to sing I was so nervous during the performance that I laughed throughout the entire song.
