Gloria's Story
Life
Started life as a Jersey Girl (Somerville), before moving to Miami. After graduating from FIU in'78 with my BA in Liberal Arts/Music, I traveled abroad. In 1982, I moved back to Miami after living in London, I got a job at Eastman Kodak in Coral Gables. That particular job lasted 2 years until I fell victim to downsizing. I then worked at Bloomingdales at The Falls, as the Divisional Dept. Manager of Menswear,Ladies Accessories, and Childrens wear. Alas, retail is NOT a lucrative business, so when Kodak offered another job, I ran! I continued working at the Kodak/Coral Gables office until 1988, when I got a promotion/transfer to Kodak's home office in Rochester, NY, as a systems analyst. I lived there for 11 years. During that time, I graduated from the Roche...Expand for more
ster Institute of Technology with my MS degree in web design/software engineering. In 1997, I met my current husband, Mike, who is British and owns his own computer consultant company. For two years, we kept the airlines and phone companies in business with our trans-Atlantic romance! I retired from Kodak in 1999, and moved to England, with my mother and cats. Mike & I have been married almost 23 years now, and we live in the village of Tiptree, in Essex, which is approximately 47 miles NE from central London. Tiptree is home to the world famous Wilkin & Sons jam factory, so if you ever see that in a store, that's Tiptree! I am now a housewife, and have a small bakery business I run from home. When I do get time I do charity work for our community and my church.
