Gordon's Story
I'll get on here and update this a little at a time. I now reside in Auckland, New Zealand and have done since 1985. Mainly been coaching ice figure skating since 1982, although I have cut back to only a few hours a week as I have two other business's to keep track of now. The coaching has been good to me with a few trips around the world and numerous ones to Australia (good excuse to go to the Gold Coast while I'm there). Got in to a bit of sailing (hey, we had the Americas Cup for a while) and would love to get back doing more of that. I get back to North America about every 3 years (usually LA or Vegas to check out the shows) but have not been back to Vancouver since 1994. Hoping to come up to Vancouver next Xmas for a visit. Got in to racing karts around 1992 as a hobby before moving to speedway ( a much more expensive hobby!). Used to spend Saturdays at the kart track with a guy named Scott Dixon (Indy 500 winner) practicing at the same time. rried ten years to Maryanne. Maryanne was the main tutor at a leading makeup school in Auckland. Maryanne worked for KNB on The Chronicles of Narnia as one of the main special effects makeup artists. Had to be one of the weirdest Halloween parties I had ever been to when the cast and KNB team hired out a bar in Auckland. Will never forget it. How often do you get to see Andrew Adamson (director of Shrek) dressed up as a white witch (he already had the hair)? We spend alot of time at various theaters as Maryanne and Gemma both do a fair amount of musicals. I end up being dragged in to do all the show photos (I may post some of my favourites). Gemma at least has her mother's vocal skills and not mine. Gemma and Maryanne are both in to the dog show thing. I'm not.
I think all the dogs are great and don't need to be judged. I miss Vancouver quite a bit, it really is a great place. I remember heading down to Robson square and going for a skate at midnight. Security would let us do some jumps and spins as there was usually no-one else around. to be continued.
