Grace's Story

Life Hello Everyone, How can it be possible we have a 30 yr reunion already. Well, I won't be able to join you, but wish I could, and will be with each of you in heart and spirit as you celebrate, and as we remember those who cannot be with us. I would love to hear from each of you. I left GB in 1978, moved to Oshkosh for 5 years, attended the college there, got married to John Swartz in 1980, had a beautiful daughter Carrie Lynn Swartz in 1983, and in 1984 we moved to Kent Island Maryland. Despite my many efforts to return home, it seems my path is destined to be here in Maryland I had a son in 1989, David John Swartz, and divorced in 1995. In fact, here is a kicker, on the night of our last reunion I attended, my husband and I seperated! He left me there to ride home with old friends and that was the last straw to break the camel's back. None the less, life got better, even though three difficult years of being a single Mom. So, in 1998 I married again, John Ciaravella, (please, no jokes about the Johns). We have a nice life here on the island off the Chesapeake Bay where we crab for Blue Crabs all summer. We walk on the beach with our dogs, of which we usually have 4 or 5, and enjoy sitting by the fish pond. I dug the pond years ago because I was bored, and we keep adding to it with plants, flowers, stepping stones, and walkway. It is a nice place to relax by, watching the waterfall, and feeding the fish, who swim amongst the lilly pads, iris and frogs. The pond regenerates itself each year with new life of fish and tadpoles. My daughter is now 23 and has lived in Nags Head North Carolina for the past year, "finding herself". ...Expand for more
An extremely smart girl who can't seem to find a college degree. she is every bit of me and my Mom, for those of you who knew Blondie. Well, Carrie is little Blondie! (All 4 foot 10 inches of herself.) My son, David is 16 and he will be taking the provisional driving test this week. He is as handsome and GQ as they come, with a heart of gold, so soft and sweet. My children are the best thing I have done in life, outside of caring for and seeing three of my family members through Hospice. My road has been bumpy, but always full of laughter, good times, and having met many good people and friends. I have dedicated the past 20 years to Medical Administration, but now have pursued a new career working with seniors and Medicare as a licensed agent with Bankers Life and Casualty. I don't think of myself as an insurance agent, but rather a senior advisor and assistant. I still paint and draw, have shown and sold my work spareingly, and never amounted to that artist I dreamed of. However, there is always retirement if my hands remain steady. So, thats about it in a nutshell. Your emails are welcomed and the only way I might be able to converse with any of you. We travel to GB once a year. (thats 45 times driving, 948.6 miles one way so far) Usually our visits are with Bonnie Blaser Lutzow, (who I don't know why she isn't on this classmate list), Sue Leurquin Martell, Cheri Michiels Pelon Olson (now in Marinette) and family. So heres wishing you all the best of life, love and happiness. OR, Live Long and Prosper! I'll take a walk through the yearbook the day of the reunion and think of all of you again. Peace and Love Grace LeSage
