Grace's Story

Life I'm currently living and loving life in Naples, Florida for the past 11 years. Met my soulmate, Steve Lawson, here in paradise 8 years ago and married him, November 30, 2006 at Little Palm Island in the Florida Keys. Between us we have four children, Steve's handsome son Brandon who is 24, a charter boat captain here in Naples and the ultimate fisherman and hunter; Steve's daughter, Karren who is a 20 year old loving, beautiful lady pursuing a career in retail; my oldest son Jon, a brilliant and articulate 22 year old recent grad of Florida State (Go Noles) and a copywriter for a business consulting firm, and my youngest son, Justin, a brilliant, witty 21 year old junior at University of Miami (Go Canes), pursuing a degree in Computer Science. Yes we are a house divided when it comes to college football...but I stay neutral and in the middle! My husband owns two businesses in the building industry, is a past officer and Board of Director of Florida Home Builders and his passion (besides me) is restoring late 60's muscle cars. He founded West Coast Muscle Car Club four years ago, whose proceeds go to benefit local charities. As for the rest of my life since leaving CSHS, after a few false starts and stops, and mistakes (I prefer to call them stumbles) along the way, I finally finished my degree in Accounting in 1995 and have been working in public accounting since. I guess being born April 15th, I was just destined for this career. My passions (besides my husband) are tennis which I took up on my 40th birthday and discovered, despite Mrs. Hayward in freshman...Expand for more
gym class telling me I was never going to be an athlete, that I was quite a natural. My number one other passion is shopping, which I have been practicing my whole life and believe I have the art quite perfected. Recently I took up the frustrating game of golf, which I truly only enjoy at our mountain home in Mountain Air, North Carolina, since some holes are a few hundred feet below the tee box, where on those holes, my ball finally gets airborne! Steve and I have adopted a sweet, loving, beautiful 3 pound Yorkie, named Mercedes, who is truly our baby. Although I profess to say I have no regrets in life, I would love to go back to my high school days now, knowing all that I have learned in life. Things would sure be different! No longer shy and insecure, I would have joined in more activities and asked all those gorgeous CSHS guys out, that I only dreamed of doing then! And finally, I would never have let anyone who was mean to me or anyone else, knock us down or make us feel less of ourselves. I would have stood up for the underdogs. But also, as I've learned, I forgive those who did, for they were only insecure teens themselves trying to make themselves feel better. I joined here hoping to find some of my old highschool friends, especially Laura Butz whereever you are, and to keep current with upcoming high school reunions, as I keep finding out about them too late. Hope everyone is doing well and loving life as much as I am, for it is too short and goes too fast! Please feel free to email and let me know what you've been up to! I'd love to hear from you!
