Graham's Story
Life
After high school I attended Virginia Tech, where I received BS, MS, and PhD degrees in Engnieering Mechanics. In 1979 I took a faculty position at the Universtiy of Notre Dame in South Bend, In. I married Seala Fletcher in 1980. In 1982 I moved to The University of Akron, where I have been since. I served as Associate Provost from 1994 to 1998 and Dean of Engineering from 1998 to 2003. g COmputer Science at Penn State. My research and teaching areas are in vibrations and applied maththmatics. I have published four books in vibrations, system dynamcis and applied mathematics as well as papers in professional journals. I am currently working on another book, teaching, and doing research on vibrations problems at the nanoscale. In my spare time I enjoy playing tournament bridge and visiting amusement parks to ride roller coasters.
