Grant's Story
Life
I moved from Winnipeg to Delta, BC in '69 and graduated there in '72 from DSHS. Then I moved again to Medicine Hat, Alberta. In '73 I started a BSC program until '76 and opted to start a Chemical Technology program at SAIT and completed the program in '78. I started a job in Medicine Hat at a fertilizer plant. I moved to Vancouver in '84 and completed a 4th class Power Engineering program in '86 and started work at St.Mary's Hospital. In my life I have lived in Edmonton (9 yrs), Saskatoon (2 yrs), Winnipeg (5 years), Delta, BC (3 yrs), Medicine Hat (12 years), Vancouver (4 yrs), New Westminster, BC ( 1 yr) and Surrey, BC (19 yrs). I hope my kids never have to move as much as I did. But it was a great opportunity to meet a lot of people and make some great friends. But it was difficult to go to school in so many different cities in so many provinces and so hard to make friends then have to say goodbye. I always envied those who grew up in the same town practically living in the same house.
