Grant's Story
A lot has gone on since I left High School. I managed to evade college, yet still pursue an engineering career. I married young to Pam Nelson (which I would do again), but we had trouble, were divorced, and I was off to Hollywood in the mid 80's. I started in production sound, then moved to video, then to post production. In 1991 I left the small Burbank film and video company (Intervideo/TTI) after some time as Chief Engineer there. I took a position at Post Logic (a block North of Hollywood & Vine) to build one of the first all digital post production houses in Hollywood. In June 2009 took a position as Principal Systems Engineer with Sony Pictures Entertainment to build their new digital intermediate facility "Colorworks " in Culver C...Expand for more
ity. We been very busy here. I could site a long list of movies we've finished, but I'll just list a few: Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, SALT, Zombieland, This is It!, Karate Kid, the Other Guys, and in queue - Men in Black III, the Green Hornet and Spiderman 4.
In August 2005 my second marriage blew up, and I started a miserable 5+ year divorce battle. I like being a couple, so I expect I will do it again - or at least try. I have a woman I am very much in love with, and would like to be my partner for the rest of my time here.
I immensely enjoy my work, but still find some time to play. In the early 90's I took an interest in firearms, and have practiced and trained quite a bit. I am an NRA certified rifle instructor, appleseed instructor (appleseedinfo.org) and diamond member at Frontsight (frontsight.com).
