Greg's Story

Life Now for a little more info. Went to Grossmont for two years. Left for college to get as far away from SD as possible but still stay in the CSU system. Chose Humboldt State U. It was that or Chico. Guess I wanted to party for a few. Graduated in 89, surprisingly enough. Then proceeded to hang out with the local greenery producing community. Then in 1994 I quit all that and have tried to get more responsible. Began a career treating drinking water. That eventually took me to Seattle where I treated 180 million gallons of water per day. Saw some great hockey, attended some concerts (Tool, Foo Fighters, Dresden Dolls, Muse) then got outta there. Too many people. Moved to Whitefish MT where they dont have jobs in my trained profession. Now I am kinda a bike riding/snowboarding/hockey playing early retiree. Ha. Funds are starting to run out and I will most likely have to start the 9-5 grind again. I has been fun while it lasted for sure. Welp, I am off to fill in the rest of the blanks. School WTF? Not sure how to answer this stuff, so I will wing it. To be honest, hight school was not my favorite place to be. One of my biggest regrets in life was how it ended with DAP. Handled that really badly. My favorite teacher was Ernie Neveau over at Grossmont. He inspired me to go to Humboldt. Coming back and gi...Expand for more
ving a talk on the spotted owl of Northern California was a highlight for me. College Man, college was kinda a blur. Big party time. My first year I was on academic probation. Living with a bunch of party animals in a dorm was not the way to get a good education. I can remember a teacher (who wrote the textbook) saying to a class of 150 "70% of you in this class will fail" with a heavy German accent. I laughed out loud. He looked right at me and said "you will be one". LOL. Boy was he close. I remember looking at the book the night before the final and being only half way through reading it. I tried for an hour or two, then said f... it and went off and partied til 3 am. Needless to say, I did not do so well, D- was the grade. I did not fail, tho. Discovered the whole concept of Naturalism vs. Humanism thanks to Jean Jacques Rousseau. Turned into a nature lovin hippy. Hung out with as many producers of Humboldt Counties Finest. Did that for a few years. Then in 1994 got clean and sober and responsible. Bought a house, got a job. Crap like that. After 21 years of being in Humboldt, I moved to Seattle for a job. Didnt really like the big city, so I moved again. Now I am in Whitefish, MT. I am a woodworker and photographer and am attempting to make a living that way. We shall see how that works.
