Greg's Story

Life Well the update on 'my life'... Sadly I find myself learning how to be a single man again. Although finding it difficult, after 30+ years, I'm also slowly understanding how to accept, and focus on this new chapter in my life. I realize this will take time, however, I also have this deep feeling that something special, something important, something life altering is on the horizon. I simply need to understand and learn how to navigate through the dark to find my new light, which I know is out there! I'm enjoying being close to the beach and downtown Vancouver and taking more advantage of the amazingly beautiful part of the planet I call home. I've had an extremely difficult, and emotionally challenging 2018 and '19 to this point. I've experienced great loss and emotional pain on many fronts within my family. Taking baby steps is where I"m at, but my strides are getting larger everyday and I'm thankful for those in my life who love and support me and the simple things in life which are the cornerstone of happiness. My Kid Rio is now 21 in just finished his 4th year at UBC. With a bucket full of brains, he is changing his major now to Metaphysics, and generally, most of our conversations end up getting to the point where he's so far over my head I just no...Expand for more
d and learn. A published author at 15, and now working on his 3rd book, his goal in life to be a writer and is an extremely gifted musician, currently working on an independent solo album. He has been a 'rock' for me through this difficult year. I'm really not sure where I would be without his love and support. I'm thankful everyday I was blessed with having Rio in my life. Workplace I continue to love my chosen profession, still in the television/broadcast industry now after 35+ years...where does the time disappear to? Covering NHL (primary director for Vancouver Canucks and other Rogers/HNIC productions) 'pays the bills', however continue to do a great deal of work internationally. It's hard to believe that after signing my contract for the Tokyo Olympics it will be my 18th Olympic Games. I consider myself very fortunate to continue to love what I do for a living, Every production is different, and I learn something new every day, which is what is required when you have the 'young ones' nipping at my butt! Still wanting/dreaming of opening my own beach bar some day and have not given up on that, however, now starting to sound much more palatable in maybe not owning the place....how about just sitting in the corner playing guitar and meeting people?!!
