Greg's Story

Life I am married and my wife and I have just passed our 25th anniversary last May 2005. I have one son who is 14 and doing very well. He was selected to attend the Junior National Young Leaders Program (a US Congressional Program) in 2004 and was in Washington DC during the 2004 election. On election morning, he had breakfast in the US Capitol with our Washington State Congressional Representatives and Senators. He also met John Kerry on election morning in the Capitol. It was a great experience for my son. Earlier in 2004, my son had an opportunity to fly with the United States Navy Blue Angels in airplane # 7 (two seater). They took him up for about a half hour. He loved it. I only wish there was a rule that if you take a father's son up, the father gets a ride too...... :-) School High school seems like a couple of lifetimes ago. To tell the truth, I think if I had it to do over again, I would skip North Haven High School and go straight to college - life really started to be fun in college. College - BS Psychology from The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina. - MBA from the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, ND - Working on MS in Space Studies through the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, ND I earned my Bachelors Degree in Psychology from The Citadel in Charleston, SC. Then while serving as a Launch Control Officer in the USAF, I earned a Masters Degree in Business Administration at the University of North Dakota (UND). While at Boeing, I have taken many classes in Che...Expand for more
mistry, Anatomy and Physiology, Microbiology along with some technical computing courses and Leadership courses. I am now enrolled in a second Master of Science Degree program in Space Studies through UND. Maybe, when I have completed the MS program, I may go on and earn a PhD in Space Studies. We will see.... more later...... Workplace I am a Senior Computing Project Manager at The Boeing Company. I have worked on both the Military side (Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) programs and the B2 Bomber program) and the Commercial side of Boeing (777 Airplane program). I am now managing multiple computing projects across the United States. Fortunately, with telecons and Webex, I get to do this from Washington state and do not have to travel much. The best part of my job is learning new things continuously and working with some really nice and smart people. Military I served as a Launch Control officer in the 321st Strategic Missile Wing at Grand Forks, ND. I started as a Deputy Missile Combat Crew Member as a Second Lieutenant, then was promoted to Missile Combat Crew Commander while a First Lieutanant and shortly promoted to a Flight Commander position as a First Lieutanant. Following the completion of my Combat Crew duty, I served as the Officer in Charge of the Missile Procedures Trainer Branch of the 321 SMW. I was one of the initial members of the Lieutanant's Professional Development Program Cadre at Grand Forks AFB. This program provided training for Lieutenants and Captains in leadership techniques.
