Greg's Story
Life
After graduating from college and graduate school, a two-year stint in the Peace Corps living in Paraguay, South America, developed a wanderlust in me that has never been extinguished. I came back from South America in 1981 and worked several years in radio and television, mostly producing commercials, in such places as Albuquerque; Rochester, NY; Tampa and Miami, FL; and St. Louis, MO, before moving to Washington, DC, in 1985 to work for the Voice of America. become interested in working for the Department of State as a Foreign Service Officer. After several attempts at taking the exam and finally passing, I joined the State Department in 1990. Since then I've served in such places as Oslo, Norway; Fukuoka, Japan; Islamabad, Pakistan; and Hamburg, Germany, as well as in the State Department in Washington. I am currently back in Washington working in the European Bureau of the Department of State. I met my wife, Mary, in Albuquerque. We have no children.
