Greg's Story
Life
I'm still involved in music since high school. I have a musical group called Kanepono and we do performances for parties,
weddings and other social events. The group consist of four musicians all from your local phone company, we've been together for about 24 years, we cover a wide range of musical taste from the oldies to Hawaiian, jazz contempory, rock'n'roll you name it we can do it. We did some club gigs for awhile, but that got kinda tiresome after working a full time job during the day and music at nights, so we decided to kick back and just do parties, weddings, birthdays, graduations etc.
We do have a website with info of the group.
We recorded an original song and released it on a CD along with other musical groups with there songs for MGC records, a local recording company here in Hawaii, it was a Christmas CD called "Hawaii-Christmas In The Islands". MGC Records dedicated the CD in Memory of Sept 11 2001 with all proceeds going to help the victims of 9-11.
I also did a couple of session recordings playing back...Expand for more
up guitar for other artists, one artist in particular I would like to spot-light was Sabrina, the daughter of my cousin and fellow-classmate Anthony Sedeno. She did the local Waikiki night club circuit for awhile. It was an honor to play on that CD. The group is in the recording studios now and hopefuly we can come out with a CD release soon.
Retired from The local phone company after 34 years of service and recently retired again after working for 2 1/2 years for a local housing development caled "Ewa By Gentry".
Besides my musical group I spend time restoring cars, I have a '69 El Camino that's restored and '67 SS Nova that I'm still restoring, I also collect guitars and have a small collection of 35 guitars and 7 ukuleles.
I'm Enjoying life as much as I can with my grand children and family which includes 3 grand-daughters,1 grand-son, my 2 sons and my wife Gale. I hope you are all doing well and are enjoying life as well.
Keep music in your life it keeps you smiling and lightens up your heart and soul, until than ALOHA!!!!!
